I Wore Air Force 1s for 7 Days Straight — Here's What Happened
Same pair, seven days, no cleaning. A day-by-day breakdown of how fast white AF1s actually fall off — and what it took to bring them back.

Air Force 1s are basically the go-to white sneaker. They go with everything, they look clean, and somehow you feel more put together just wearing them.
But there's one problem… they get dirty fast.
So I wore the same pair of Air Force 1s for 7 days straight — no switching, no cleaning (even though I wanted to), just daily wear.
Day 1 — Brand New Energy
Perfect. Bright white, no creases, everything looks sharp. You're walking a little slower, avoiding every possible dirt spot like your life depends on it.
Day 2 — Still Clean, But Less Careful
Still look good, but you're not babying them as much. A small crease is starting, there's tiny dust on the toe — nothing serious yet.
Day 3 — First Signs
This is where things start to show. Light scuff on the side, soles not as white, dirt starting to stick more. You can still pass them off as clean, but it's not Day 1 anymore.
Day 4 — You Notice It
Now you're looking down more often. The toe box is losing that bright white, there's light dirt in the stitching, soles getting a little grey. Other people probably don't care, but you definitely do.
Day 5 — I Should Clean These…
This is the point where you know: 'Yeah… I should clean these.' But I didn't. I just kept going.
Day 6 — They're Not Fresh Anymore
Now it's obvious. Multiple scuffs, overall dull look, soles clearly dirty. They're still wearable, but that clean AF1 look is gone.
Day 7 — Yeah… They're Cooked
After a full week of straight wear: creased, dirty all around, lost that bright white completely. At this point, I couldn't ignore it anymore. Had to clean them.
The Clean (Finally)
After letting everything build up all week, I finally cleaned them. I used ShoesRx's Cleaner to break down all the dirt and grime, especially on the toe box and around the stitching where it builds up the most. Then I went in with the Whitener to bring back that bright white look on the uppers and soles.
Once everything was clean again, I finished it off with the Protector from the Full Prescription box to help keep them from getting dirty as fast again.
Honestly, they came back way better than expected — but it definitely took more effort than it would have if I didn't wait a full week.
What I Learned
- Air Force 1s get dirty fast — not in a dramatic way, it's small dirt buildup every day that adds up.
- Waiting makes it worse. I knew I should've cleaned them around Day 4 or 5… but I didn't, and it showed.
- Quick maintenance would've saved me. A wipe down and a light mid-week clean would've kept them looking almost new the whole time.
Final Thoughts
Air Force 1s are easy to wear, but they're not 'wear and forget' shoes — especially in white. If you ignore them for a full week like I did, they'll definitely show it.
"Keep your AF1s looking right. If yours start looking like Day 6 instead of Day 1, the right setup makes it way easier to bring them back without damaging them."
The boxes built for this exact problem.
Cleaner + Whitener. The two-step kit for bringing white sneakers back to Day 1.
Cleaner + Protector. Stay ahead of the dirt so Day 7 still looks like Day 2.
